Invisalign

Clear aligners, quietly handled.

Invisalign is the right tool for many adult cases: used here as one piece of a larger cosmetic conversation, not the entire conversation.

Why Invisalign

Clear aligners are an effective tool for adult orthodontics, well-suited to the patient who has lived with a crowded or shifted smile and is ready to address it without the social and professional friction of fixed braces. Dr. Lina uses Invisalign in cases where the underlying teeth are sound and the goal is movement, not coverage.

Where Invisalign sits in a larger plan matters. For many cosmetic patients, alignment alone closes most of the gap to the smile they want, and a small amount of refining work afterward (whitening, edge contouring, or a pair of veneers on the front teeth) finishes the picture.

What to expect

Treatment begins with a consultation and a digital scan of your teeth. Dr. Lina reviews the proposed plan with you before any aligners are made: the projected end position, the expected duration, and the role aligners play in your overall cosmetic plan.

You receive a series of clear aligners, each worn for one to two weeks before progressing to the next. Check-in appointments are spaced out: Dr. Lina sees you regularly enough to verify progress and adjust the plan, but the day-to-day of treatment is something you carry with you.

At the end of active treatment, retainers are essential. Teeth that have moved want to drift back, and consistent retainer wear is what keeps the result.

When Invisalign is a good fit

Invisalign suits mild-to-moderate adult cases: crowding, spacing, mild bite issues, and post-orthodontic relapse. Severe skeletal misalignment, certain bite problems, and cases requiring complex tooth rotation are better served by traditional orthodontics or a combination approach.

Discipline matters. Patients who wear their aligners consistently see predictable results in the projected timeframe. Patients who don’t, don’t.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How long does treatment take?

Most adult Invisalign cases run between six and eighteen months, depending on the complexity of the movement required. Dr. Lina maps out an expected range during consultation.

How often do I wear the aligners?

Aligners are worn twenty to twenty-two hours a day, removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing. Treatment time depends on consistency.

Will Invisalign change my smile shape?

Invisalign moves teeth into a planned position. It can dramatically improve the alignment and the way your smile reads, but it doesn’t change the size, shape, or color of individual teeth. Where those are also part of the goal, Dr. Lina combines aligners with veneers or whitening as appropriate.

Is it noticeable?

The aligners themselves are nearly invisible at conversational distance. Small composite attachments are sometimes added to specific teeth to help the aligners grip; these are tooth-colored and removed at the end of treatment.
